LA Fashion Week

Accomplishing a lifelong goal as an Artist is an incredible feeling. It's the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. As an Artist, there are few things more rewarding than seeing your vision come to life in front of an audience; This year, at LA Fashion Week 2023, I had the privilege of having one of my handmade pieces on the runway, despite suffering from chronic pancreatitis.

For those who don't know, chronic pancreatitis is a painful and debilitating condition that affects the pancreas. It can cause nausea, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain, which can make it difficult to function on a day-to-day basis. Despite this challenge, I was determined to make my dream as an Artist a reality, and somehow got my website back up this year.

Creating handmade pieces has always been my passion. There's something incredibly special about taking different materials and transforming them into something beautiful and unique. I've always believed that fashion should be more than just something you wear; it should be an expression of who you are. With this in mind, I poured my heart and soul into creating unique pieces that would truly showcase my artistry.

This March, 2023 at LA Fashion Week, A close friend helped make the impossible-possible. You may recognize her from other areas of the website, Lucy Lovesick was one of the very first models to ever volunteer for Lonewlf, and she is now an Official Los Angeles Runway Model!

It’s true when they say find friends who help elevate you, and Lucy and I share a bond even deeper than friendship, a mutual understanding of struggle. Diagnosed with MS, an incurable and debilitating disease, Lucy’s advice has always been “Run while you can still walk”, she is an unstoppable force who not only Models despite her diagnosis, but also writes and produces her own music.

Recently I was hospitalized for over a week, once again suffering from a Pancreatic Cyst, when this absolute star decided she would wear my earrings on the Runway for her Debut at LAFW, 2023. A gesture I would have never expected or asked for, that accomplished something I have dreamt of my entire life.

In that moment, all of the pain and hardship I had endured seemed worth it. I had accomplished my lifelong goal as an Artist and Designer, despite the challenges I faced. It was a reminder that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and are willing to put in the work.

I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to showcase my work at LA Fashion Week 2023. It was an experience that I will never forget, and one that has inspired me to continue creating and sharing my art with the world. To anyone who may be struggling with a chronic illness or facing other challenges, I would say this: NEVER give up on your dreams. With hard work, dedication, and a little bit of grit, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Thank you so much to everyone who has followed my Artistic journey through multiple ups and downs, and thank you Lucy, I am Eternally Grateful.

XO, Ashe Wolf
